River School Reviews

Excellent school. The teachers have been great and the parent/teacher communication is second to none. We have been very pleased with the development of our son. The quality of education has been equal and in some ways better than our other childen that go to somewhat better known schools. Nancy is a wonderful Head of School and has addressed any issues we have had personally. The River school is one of the best kept secrets in DC. private schools.

This six year-old private school expanded rapidly and successfully during its first years. Its early success contributed to the overbearing pride of members of the school administration, who now give more attention to growth and expansion, while ignoring obvious problems related to the quality of education, communication, and support network of information to families as established by its mission and objectives. Communication skills of some teachers and director of programs are shockingly poor. School administration is oblivious to problems in the classrooms and does not promote parent evaluation of teachers and director. A comprehensive evaluation of the school and staff is long overdue.
